Torrent-thingy
Sep. 30th, 2005 04:38 pmOkay, this may sound stupid, but... How does this BitTorrent thingy work? Where do I get it?
I'd forgotten what it was like to read my flist right after an episode of, not having watched it along with everyone else. So yeah... BitTorrent. I want it. Now.
Please?

Stargate:Atlantis, let's say and pick one of the top listed torrents, the ones that have a good ratio of "seeders" to "leechers" (aka "givers" to "takers")
If it has a seed ratio of "0", that is a dead torrent.
Click on, you'll be lead to a torrent site. Click on the torrent download. A download box will come up. You need to click "open with Bitlord" and then "Download".
Be very, very patient. Bittorrent is slow by design. It can take anywhere from two-twenty-four hours to download an hour show depending on your connection, the amount of available seeds, etc. Just ignore it until it is done. (Leaving it overnight is never a bad idea.)
Speaking of connection, if you have dial-up, forget it. Not enough years in your life to wait for it.
