maristuA few people have asked what I've been up to in the past two years. To a few I've already answered, but here goes a quick run-through anyway, for those interested...
* I got divorced, but I guess most already knew that. I stayed single for a loooong time (at least it felt long for me, considering I'd never been single for over a week since I was 16). Then I dated, broke up, fell in love with a guy half way across the world, went to see him, decided it'd never work out, came back, dated a little more, broke up again, and am currently single and thinking of giving up on men altogether. Heh. Not really, but damn, this is just so complicated.
* I traveled a lot. Went to Spain and did the Way of Saint James pilgrimage. Went to Maceió (beach town here in Brazil) with friends and then boyfriend. Went to Pirinópolis, which I guess doesn't even count as a trip since it's about an hour by car from where I live. But still, I stayed there in a hotel, so I'm counting it.
* Went to Bariloche (Argentina) and tried to learn how to ski, which, you know, is impossible. All that stuff in movies is just computer graphics. Real people just keep falling on their asses when trying to ski *g*
* Next trip, later this month, is to Machu Picchu in Peru. You know, the Inca ruins? It's a four day pilgrimage to the city, and should be lots of fun. I'm going with a two girl friends, which is a totally new experience for me. I'm not used to hanging out with women. I'm having a blast, though :)
* I'll probably be buying my apartment sometime before the end of the year. Hopefully. If my dad really helps, and I manage to sell the apartment I have in São Paulo, which has become virtually unsellable (is that a word?). Really, I think someone did some kind of voodoo on that apartment, I've been trying to sell it for THREE YEARS and still nothing. Oh well... Just something to remember my ex by, I guess :P
Other than that, I've just been, you know, living. Hanging out with friends, drinking (sometimes heavily, most of the time just socially), smoking, then quitting, then starting up again (am currently on the "just quit for the umpteenth time last month" stage). Going to gay clubs, which I've discovered are so much more fun than straight ones, at least here in my town. The DJ's amazing, and the male strippers are gorgeous *g* I'm sure many people I know are now certain that I'm gay. Oh well, makes for interesting gossip, I guess...
