Busy busy busy
Dec. 15th, 2002 11:21 pmLife has been incredibly busy lately... And I sincerely don't remember feeling this happy in the past 3 years or so. I'm decorating our new place, which is always fun :) I love my job, my co-workers, and I'm being really well paid for a change. So yes, I'm amazingly happy. Life is good :)
Friday was my department's end-of-the-year barbeque. Seriously, if you haven't been to a brazilian barbeque, you have *no* idea what you're missing. It is totally different from american barbeque (which I believe consists of frying burgers on a grill? Is this right?). What we do is take whole pieces of meat, put them on a stick and rotate them over the heat of the coals for a few hours... Alejandra maybe knows what I'm talking about? We also have rice and salads and a whole bunch of other side dishes that are hard to describe. Not to mention the music, which has an incredible beat. And the caipirinha (a brazilian cocktail which consists of lemon juice, cachaça/wodka, sugar and crushed ice). So this is what I propose: y'all come down here, and I promise to make you the best barbeque you have *ever* eaten!

Just watched another episode of Six Feet Under. The episode right after X-mas, where Nate discovers that his "friend" is pregnant, Brenda fucks a total stranger and Claire takes pictures of Billy naked. My husband was telling me that he no longer likes the show very much. He says that in the first season they *still* showed all the stupid shitty things that people do, but they at least had the decency of giving us a little *hope* at the end of the episode...
They don't do that anymore. I still like it, though. Because the truth is, sometimes life is just plain shitty. No hope in sight. People are sometimes stupid, and sometimes they screw up their entire lives because of one simple choice. I have a few examples of that in my family, he has a few examples in his.
I guess it's more about the reason of *why* you watch the show... I never watched it to feel good. If you want to feel good, you should watch, I don't know, cartoons or something. Sitcoms, maybe. Definitely nothing that comes out of Alan Ball's mind :)
I have no idea why I watch it, though. I enjoy it immensely. I like trying to figure them out, trying to understand *why* they act the way they do, and trying to figure out what they'll do next. It's stimulating. Damn, maybe I *should* be a shrink...
Or maybe I just need one *g*

Last of all, Lineage is the next SV episode that the Latin WB will be showing. I haven't watched it yet, or any of the episodes after that. Should be fun, watching eps for the first time on TV. I can't even remember what that feels like!
